The formula for the slope intercept equation is y = mx + b, where x and y are in the ordered pair (x, y), m is the slope, and b is the y-intercept coordinate in the ordered pair (0, b).
If you're trying to calculate slope, given two ordered pair points, use the formula (that does begin with m):
y2 - y1 .
m = x2 - x1
Know that the two ordered pairs would be (x1, y1) and (x2, y2).
