a) Take 60% of $80 and add it to the cost of the dress

80 (.60) = 48

80 + 48 = $128

 

b) Do this part in two steps. First find and subtract 40% of $128

128 (.40) = 51.2

128 - 51.2 = $76.80

Next find and subtract 10% of $76.80

76.80 (.10) = 7.68

76.80 - 7.68 = $69.12
