Another way of thinking of LCD is LCM, or least common multiple. How do we find the LCM of a set of numbers? First, we look at the prime factorization of each number. Remember, a prime number is only divisible by 1 and itself. Clearly, 3 is a prime number. However, 10 and 15 are not.
10 = 2 x 5
15 = 3 x 5
The LCM is therefore 2 x 3 x 5 = 30. In other words, 30 is the smallest number that 3, 10, and 15 will all divide into evenly.
