x women are working a job that takes y men z days to finish.  If women work 1 1/2 times faster than men, how many days will these x women take to finish the job?

It takes y men z days to finish the job.

Each man does 1/yz parts per day

 

Women work 1 1/2 times as fast as the men

or 3/2 as fast.  Each woman does 3/(2yz) parts per day

 

Multiply by x women = 3x/(2yz) parts per day

 

We need this to equal 100% of the job or [3x/(2yz)]d = 1

d = 2yz/3x days

 

It will take 2yz/(3x) days to complete the job
