Let x = the amount taken in at Saturday's game.

 

Then the amount taken at Thursday's is 83.50 less, so it's x-83.50.

 

Add the two and the result is the total for both days. So...

 

x + x-83.5 = 4343.5

2 x -  83.5 = 4343.5

 

Add 83.5 to each side and divide by 2. The result is what was taken in Saturday's game. Subtract 83.50 to get what was taken in Thursday's game. :)
