Shana wants to buy a new bicycle that has a retail price of 259.99. She knows that it will be on sale next week for 30% off the retail price. If the tax rate is 7%, find the total amount, to the nearest cent, that she will save by waiting until next week.

First, calculate the sales tax on the current price (259.99 x .07) and add that to the price. 

Second, calculate the discount of 30% off the 259.99 (it's easy if you use 10% - 25.99. Then add it up three times or multiply by 3). Multiply the discounted price by .07 and add it to the price.
