what is the volume of a cylinder when the height is 8.1 inches?

I don't understand this question because i don't know how to do it.  And it's harder than it looks, because i am just learning it.

Rebekah, you would need to know the radius of the circle that forms the bottom of the cylinder.

then the volume would be pi times (radius squared) times 8.1.

Rebekah, if we had a triangular block, the volume would be the area of the base x height, right?

 

The volume of a cylinder is the area of the base x height.
