Consecutive even integers

Find three consecutive even integers such that the sum of the first and twice the last is two more than the middle number

Jason L.

Call the 3 numbers x, y, and z.

y = x+2
z = x+4

x + 2z = y + 2
x + 2(x+4) = (x+2) + 2
3x + 8 = x+4
2x = -4
x = -2

This means y =0 and z=2.
