What is the comparable size for a womens "medium" in boys sizes for a fleece crew top?

What is the comparable size for a womens medium fleece top in boys sizes? (It seems that very little women's fleece comes in crew neck styles -- but rather mostly zip-up styles.  Thanks!

Dear Russ,

 

     It really depends on built. For instance, about four years ago, my son "robbed" my Redskin sweat shirt since it was perfect fit for him. The one that he got for himself was too big and  he had to give that to his big uncle! He was in 11th grade at that time. Now he cannot rob me of my sweat shirt since he is five inches taller, we both have medium built. At that time we both were in size M for women and boys respectively.
