Hi Jeneya..lets give this a try.
One day a little boy asked his mom for money for some candy.
Mom looked in her change purse and noticed that she has 16 cents. As he was walking a
bulldog started running after him. As he was running he lost four pennies from the 16 cents
his mom gave him 16 - 4 =12. So he had arrived at the store he had only 12 cents left to spend.
Hope this small story helps !
As for a COMPARE story:
Mom and her daughter got thirsty while shopping in the mall. Then Mom and her daughter
went into a beverage store to buy cokes. But, the beverage store was only selling BOTTLES of coke!
Well Mom noticed there was a 16 ounce bottle and a 12 ounce bottle of cokes. The 16 ounce was for Mom
and the 12 ounce was for her daughter, which is 4 ounces less than Mom's ( 16 - 4 =12). So by comparison,
Mom had a little more coke than the daughter.
