In book 12 of the Odyssey, Odysseus and his men are beached on the shores of the island of the sun. When the provisions of their ship run out, the crew slaughters the cattle of the Sun. The Sun finds out and subsequently asks Zeus to punish Odysseus and his men. Once Odysseus and his men are off the island, Zeus kicks up another storm which destroys the ship and kills the entire crew beneath the waves.
