Rousseau is wrong by history and common observation, there is no noble savage. Hobbes was despised by the American Founders in general because he made the state the all -powerful. We now know that Locke paid much more attention to Hobbes than we formerly thought. Locke's contract theory is just the reduction of a principle to a mnemonic device. So, our Founding is "like" we made a social contract.

asked 10/28/15Personal Enlightenment Philosophy I would like to know your opinion about the state of nature
Usong Hobbes, Locke and Rousseaus views/philosphy on the state of nature, if you were to write your own opinion/view on the kworld what would it be? Be specific and use evidence (1 paragraph) I already did this for school, but I would like to know your opinion. What would you say in your own state of nature?
