Let A={x e N | 2x-7<0} and .b={x e N | x^2<4}
 
a. Describe the Cartesian product A x B by listing its elements 
 
b. Describe the Cartesian product B x A by listing its elements.

Hi Ira, 
 
The only thing I don't get is how you got (1,2,3) for set A and -1 for set B. 
 
How do you solve the 2x-7<0 and x^2<4. That's the part I'm not getting is solving these.

As Ira said The question specifies the values of x are restricted to coming from the set N={1,2,3,4,5,6,...}.
 
Based on that when you look at condition 2x-7<0 you have to ask yourself the question what elements (numbers) in the set N satisfy the condition. Then do the same for x2 < 4 .
