My day job is for a Big 4 Accounting Firm in International Tax. I use my knowledge of business, law, and the internal revenue code to suggest ways my clients can improve cross-border mergers or any cross-border intercompany transactions. This exposes me to a wide skill set including basic accounting, corporate law, general principles of federal income taxation, corporate taxation, partnership taxation, international taxation, and much more.

I'm especially proud of my ability to teach Constitutional Law. This course has always fascinated me because it studies the source and limits of the government's power. Many students find the fuzzy lines and lengthy opinions to be arduous, but I find that most people are very interested in the subject once the ideas are discussed in an engaging way. While tutoring law classes is fun and rewarding, I find that most of my students actually need help with Tax Law, including: Individual Tax, Corporate Tax, Partnership Tax, M&A Tax, and International Tax. Working with these students is great because with just a little tutoring they often make substantial progress compared to self-study.

In another life, I was a certified High School Physics teacher. I'm sure my love for teaching and people will be apparent if we schedule a lesson!

I am especially proud of my ability to teach Constitutional Law and Tax Law. Constitutional Law should be a fun class where we discuss the relationship between the government and the people -- but so frequently it seems to become vague and arbitrary. My approach is to discuss the outline (as it is likely to appear on the bar exam) and talk about how the outline would be applied in real-world situations. Partnership tax especially can be challenging to law students - but with practical examples the subject becomes much easier for students to get a handle on. I'm also happy to help with all other income tax law subjects.

I work as an International Tax Consultant at a public accounting firm. My practice focuses on International Tax, Corporate Tax, and the taxation of Mergers & Acquisitions. I frequently tutor Partnership Tax, and all other income tax courses.

Knowledgable tutor (first lesson only so far)

I enjoyed my first lesson for Constitutional Law with Jacob. He is knowledgable, warm, and good at what he does. My only area of constructive critique (which applies to all teachers/tutors generally) is that tutors should really allocate less time talking (explaining things), and more time asking the student to explain the concept. This forces the student to become an active learner. I hope to keep Jacob as a tutor for the remainder of the semester.

Jacob has a way of making these complex tax concepts digestible. Jacob is also a master of these concepts ( which I think is hard to find) and is able to advise on complex tax questions. I would highly recommend him if you're searching for a better understanding of tax law.

Great Session!

I just had my first session with Jacob. I feel like he explained 3 MBA lectures in a 30 minute session. He is very concise in his explanations and allowed me to answer questions to hypotheticals to test if I was understanding the info. His also approached the topic very practically.
