Hello! I am a medical student at Creighton University School of Medicine with a passion for education and tutoring. I graduated from UCLA in 2024 with a major in Physiological Science and a minor in Global Health. My recognitions upon graduation included Departmental Honors and the Cum Laude distinction.
Over the past eight years, I have tutored both K-12 and university students in private lessons and group settings. As a high school student I peer tutored fellow students in biology, chemistry, math, and Spanish. As an undergraduate student at UCLA, I was a tutor with the Learning Assistants program. There, I tutored fellow STEM students in biology and physics, honed my expertise in biology, and became adept at using evidence-based teaching techniques to improve student learning. I showed students how to more deeply understand scientific concepts, which led to better learning retention and improved test performance. I was also a tutor with Bresee Foundation and Higher Ground Youth and Family Services, community organizations that provide educational support to youth in Los Angeles and Orange County.
My many years of experience in education and tutoring allow me to provide streamlined, easy to understand tutoring sessions. I am able to assist with content review, test preparation, and general tutoring. My main area of expertise is in biology, but I am also comfortable tutoring general chemistry and math up to Algebra 1. I am able to tutor all grade levels, including university level biology, and can also provide pre-med advising to students planning to apply to medical school. I am flexible in my teaching strategies, and look forward to sharing my learning techniques to improve both your content knowledge and learning skills!
