I'm Alexander! I recently graduated as salutatorian from Trivium Preparatory Academy in Goodyear, Arizona, and I'll be heading to Yale University this fall to study Classics. I scored a 1560 on the SAT, placing me in the top 1% of test-takers nationally, with a 790 in math and a 770 in reading and writing. What shaped my approach to learning wasn't just natural ability, it was persistence. I actually sat for the SAT six times on my own journey to breaking 1500, so I know firsthand the strategies, the setbacks, and the grit it takes to get there. A quote I live by is "seven times down, eight times up." I bring that same mindset to my tutoring: I make sure students understand the material in a clear, approachable way, then give them plenty of time to practice it on their own. My style is patient and individualized. I start by figuring out exactly where a student is stuck, rebuild their confidence from the fundamentals, and then push them toward harder material.
Throughout high school, I tutored fellow students in algebra, PSAT, and SAT math, helping them build both their skills and their confidence. Because I've taken the SAT six times myself, I know the test's patterns, traps, and timing pressures intimately, and I can pass that hard-won knowledge directly to my students. From my own years of prep, I've also curated a large set of practice tests and materials with over 1,000 practice problems designed to drive real, measurable improvement. Outside the classroom, I'm a six-time Arizona high school swim state champion, and I've taught swim lessons to young athletes, some of whom went on to win state titles. Whether in the pool or at the desk, I know what it takes to develop someone from the fundamentals all the way to results.
I want to help my students as much as I possibly can, so I welcome any resources, goals, or specific concerns you or your child want to share. I'm reliable, easy to reach, and I always respond quickly. Feel free to message me with any questions or to schedule your first lesson!
