Our son was struggling in 5th grade math. He would "shut down" and give up before he even started. Mary Ann was able to get him through his work and built his confidence with math games. He wasn't always outwardly responsive during the sessions and she was very patient with him and gave him breaks when he needed it. By the end of 5th grade he went from all 2's in math to 3's and a 4 in Geometry! He couldn't have done it without Mary Ann's help.
I didn't want him to fail 5th grade. She was very sweet and patient with him as he's a shy boy. She also explained everything with good detail to him, in a way that he would understand it. He's been doing so much better in school, getting 100 on test and school work. I'm definitely going to email her next year so she can help him get ready for the FSA next year. If you are looking for a good tutor she is the one to go with you won't be disappointed.
By immediately engaging my student with an enjoyable task, the two of them flow through the hour with ease. The tips and tricks she instills empower my student with confidence and the ability to perform better in class. / / Most importantly, my student looks forward to the tutoring lessons and persevering through the challenges to level up. / / Today, my student earned a 100 on a big quiz and was recognized by the teacher.
