I did not know that James taught chess. The first thing we did was to play a game of chess to review my strength and weakness. He attempted to teach me how to count the pieces on the board and what pieces were under attack. Where there other pieces protecting those pieces. Look for open files and diagonal for the rooks, bishops, Queen. Look for good moves and find a the best movie. Look for hanging pieces. Suggested playing live chess a move a day.
