In preparation for an extended trip to Buenos Aires, I studied Spanish for two months with Antonio R, and arranged for two one-hour lessons each week. Mr. R is a wonderful teacher. He is bi-lingual, and is easily able to answer any question related to grammar, sentence construction, and idiomatic usages in both Spanish
and in English. He is a kind and soft-spoken man, and is without a doubt the least threatening teacher with whom I have ever worked. He gently corrects mistakes, but at the same time offers praise for good work.
Following my return to the United States in March of 2012, I plan to resume studying Spanish with Mr. R. I am eager to build upon the foundation which he has helped me to acquire.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
