I am an experienced instructor and tutor. I have taught at high school, university and Fortune 500 companies. I hold a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Columbia University, School of Engineering and Applied Science and an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University Stern School of Business. I scored a 760/800 on my Math SAT.

At Columbia University I took advanced courses in calculus and physics. I teach advanced mathematics, physics, and finance on a regular basis. Subjects taught include calculus I, II and III, including AP Calculus AB, BC, precalculus, algebra, geometry and trigonometry, AP Physics 1 and 2. I also teach advanced mathematics to middle and high school students preparing for math team competitions or for advanced college study for careers in mathematics, science, engineering and data analytics.

I also specialize in test preparation for the SAT, ACT, GRE and GMAT exams. I am very familiar with these exams. I quickly find gaps in student knowledge and then customize the instruction and lesson appropriately. I teach intuitively, providing many examples and explanations. With my proprietary methodology, I can help you score higher with practice.

At NYU Stern I took advanced courses in finance. I teach finance to MBA and undergraduate students. Subjects taught in finance include financial mathematics, financial products such as options, futures, other financial derivatives and fixed income securities, corporate finance, financial management, capital budgeting, and economics. I can help define a plan for MBA finance projects.

I enjoy teaching. I like to teach my students how to think about mathematics and physics and how to think about solving problems. I can quickly identify gaps in knowledge and prepare accordingly. I provide an intuitive understanding of the subject supplemented with analytical and quantitative work. I try hard to motivate them to practice, and I give them advice that is long-lasting and which will help them succeed and score higher.

I have worked for top banks including Bankers Trust (now Deutsche Bank), Citigroup and Chemical Bank (now JP Morgan), where I programmed and developed complex financial applications. I also developed software for major convertible bond trading firms and hedge funds.

Some courses taken at Columbia University School of Engineering include Advanced Calculus I,IIB, IIIB, IVB, Ordinary Differential Equations, Applied Mathematics, Physics - Mechanics, Physics- Electricity and Magnetism, Physics Optics and Thermodynamics, Structural Analysis I and II, Elements of Structural Design, Structural Theory and Design, Reinforced Concrete Theory, Mechanics of Solids I and II, Fluid Mechanics I and II, Hydraulic Engineering, Soil Mechanics and Foundations I and II, Bridge Design. General Chemistry I and II, Principles of Economics I and II.

I enjoy playing chess.

Knows the material and makes use of time.

Who better to tutor a future engineer than an engineer who offers tutoring tailored to the student. His friendly and outgoing personality motivates my student to want to do well. He makes a point to discover the students strengths and weaknesses and strives to fill in the gaps, so the student has a full understanding of the material. The white board is an excellent tool to see what the student is reviewing online. I could never find a tutor of Ephraim's caliber in our small town.

Perfect AP Physics Tutor

Ephraim is knowledgeable and really helped my high school daughter with AP physics. We weren't sure how a online tutor would go but it worked out very well! So nice that she could work at home in the comfort of her own home with a busy schedule. Ephraim explained everything to her in such a clear manner that she got it!
