Hi! My name is Cameron, and I love tutoring Math and Science! I am a Strake Jesuit College Prep grad, National Merit Scholar, and I studied Math at the US Air Force Academy, the University of St. Thomas in Houston, and the University of Houston. I have worked with dozens of students from the top Private schools in Houston, and I never get tired of seeing my students do better in school and get into the college of their choice!

When I was in high school I actually struggled with math like many students do, so I know what that feels like. But, when I was considering what to study in college, I decided to really challenge myself, and so I chose to study Mathematics! And the cool thing I found is that once I developed my skills, I actually enjoyed Math!

My unique perspective has allowed me to help the 50+ students that I have worked with to overcome their anxieties and confusion with math and science. I especially enjoy tutoring Algebra, Calculus, and Chemistry, and I am constantly being told by the students with whom I work that I explain things in a way that makes sense to them (even when their teacher can't!). I think this is because I had to teach myself math, that I know how to explain things to a student in a similar position as I was in. If you are interested in hearing more about my story, be sure to check out my blog or ask me - I am more than happy to share what I have learned.

I have worked with students of all backgrounds (private school, public, and Montessori), struggling students and exceptional ones who just need a study buddy, and even students with learning disabilities. So no matter what your learning style/situation is, I am confident that I can help.

Some examples of successes with past students:

3 St. Agnes students in Honors Chemistry - last semester had low C's, now 1 has an A and the other 2 girls have B+

1 student from Strake Jesuit - from making B's and C's on Algebra tests - now has an A in the class

A concerned mother came to me who wanted her son to be admitted to St. John's School but his ISEE math score was not high enough. I worked with him for 2 months, and he achieved a 9 (out of 10) on his ISEE math and was accepted to St. John's.

I assisted a female community college student with severe dyslexia and ADHD - had never been able to get above a C in a college course - I helped her to achieve all A's in her science courses and a B+ in her Psychology course.

Assisted a male college student (a 'C' student) to achieve an A in his Calculus course.

I worked with a female college student (with ADHD) with her Pathophysiology course, she now has an A and has, as a result, been admitted to nursing school. When we began working together her HESI score was below 60% and after working together for two months, she took the test again, and achieved an 83% - Her parents were so grateful and very proud of her (as was I !!)

Subjects that I tutor (both high school and college level):

Algebra (I and II)

Pre-Algebra

Geometry

Pre-Cal

Calculus

Trigonometry

Chemistry

Biology

Physics

Linear Algebra

Thanks again for stopping by, and I look forward to working with you! Have a great day!

Cameron is a fantastic tutor. He is professional, punctual, and a great teacher of the material. Our family has a lot of history with tutors in the Houston area, Cameron is by far the best we have had. He is not only intelligent in the subject matter, he is more importantly able to teach the subject to a student. He has been successful in raising my son's grades significantly in Chemistry and Geometry. A ++ tutor.

We are still waiting for the final grade but we expect a huge improvement after working with Cameron and we will definitely be calling him again in the fall.

We did get my son's final grade and it was a step higher than we were hoping for - should have called Cameron earlier!

Thorough explanation of complex issues in a way that was meaningful. My daughter did not have any trouble remembering how to solve the problem on the test. This is stuff that she would NOT have answered correctly on the test before having a session with Cameron. He was funny at times and she did not get bored when she was working with him. Sometimes she gets bored and stops paying attention, but not with Cameron.

I contacted Cameron with one month until my AP calculus test and he helped me go through EVERYTHING that i was not properly taught throughout the school year. I was also failing the actual class itself and while i was tutoring with Cameron my grade raised 13 points and i passed the class! Cameron is very patient and has a great and understandable approach. He is very thoughtful and comes prepared. He got two different AP books with multiple practice tests for us to go through which really helped. He is easy to contact and works with your schedule. I wish i knew about him at the beginning of the year! I would highly recommend him to anyone who is struggling with math or just wants to expand their knowledge.

Cameron is very patient and strategic in his tutoring approach. He made a substantial impact in helping to prepare my son for mid-term exams.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

C++ is simply C with objects. It is one of the more popular languages taught at the university level and gives the student a good background to begin programming.

I minored in Computer Science as an undergrad and studied C++ as part of my curriculum. I received an A in my basic C++ course and I continue to expand my knowledge of C and object oriented programming through independent study.

I studied differential equations for my undergraduate mathematics degree at the University of St. Thomas. I received a B+ in the course. I have also taken several more advanced courses which require a working knowledge of differential equations.

I studied Linear Algebra at the University of St. Thomas and received an A in the course.

Linear Algebra is the study of matrices and their properties. The applications for linear algebra are far reaching whether you want to continue studying advanced algebra or computer science.

I studied logic, as math major, both in the context of my courses requiring proofs, as well as a separate course (as 'Intro to Mathematics'). I am familiar with set theory, the language of logic, and how to structure and write proofs using logic notation.

I received an A in my logic course and I have since then applied what I learned in all of my proceeding math courses.

truth table help (answer)

Philip's answer is correct, but just to break down the concept a little further, I will add a response as well. I will also use T to mean true, and F to mean false, although you can use 1 for true, and 0 for false as Daniel did depending on your preference. What I would do is...

Solve the data set. (answer)

1. The percentage of members that are also members of the upper class is found by finding the total number of members who are in the upper class and dividing by the total number of members. I am going to assume that a member cannot be both in the upper class as well as...
