I am a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Houston with a strong academic foundation in mathematics and physics. I earned a 6 in IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL and a 6 in IB Physics HL, and I earned college Calculus I credit through the CLEP Calculus examination with a score of 68. I have already independently mastered Calculus II material and am currently taking the course again to reinforce and deepen that foundation. I tutor Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and introductory Physics.
I currently work one-on-one with a Houston Community College Precalculus student in an accelerated course. Our work includes rebuilding trigonometry foundations, learning unit-circle concepts, preparing for quizzes and exams, and turning difficult homework topics into manageable steps. This experience has reinforced how important it is to identify the exact gap in a student’s understanding instead of assuming that more repetition alone will solve the problem. I focus on supporting high school and early-college students who need clearer explanations, stronger foundations, or structured help preparing for demanding math and physics courses.
My tutoring approach is patient, organized, and concept-driven. I begin by diagnosing what a student already understands, explain the missing idea in plain language, and then use guided examples until the student can solve similar problems independently. I use diagrams, graphs, a digital whiteboard, and practical problem-solving routines when they help make abstract material more concrete. I do not simply provide answers or complete assignments for students; I help them understand why each step works, recognize patterns on new problems, and build confidence that carries into quizzes, exams, and future classes.
