I have been teaching photography workshops for the last three years around Chicago. I'm a graduate with a BA in Photography from Columbia College. I have proficient skill in working any and ALL brands of cameras, as this knowledge comes with my line of work. I can break down the basics of using your camera for you in a very short amount of time: My workshops are generally 3 hours long but can go anywhere from 1-4 hours or multiple sessions depending on how much learning the student feels they need. After just an hour or two with me, most of my students feel as if they are a completely new person with their camera.
I have also helped people with their photo editing skills-with Photoshop and Photoshop Elements but I can also help with programs like iPhoto. If you've asked things like "How do I fix that awful orange color in my indoor shots" or even "Can I take my kid's smiling shot from this photo and paste it (nicely) into this other one?" It can all surely be done!
Here are some recent survey responses from past students I've had:
"Scott was friendly, outgoing, easy to understand and PATIENT!"
"I had stopped using anything but the "auto" setting on my digital SLR - now I understand some of the functionality much better!"
"Scott was very knowledgeable and personable. He gave the perfect mix of hands-on instruction and freedom to experiment. My wife and I had a great time."
"I now know what all the settings on my camera are!"
