Let’s put your best foot forward and leverage your strengths. As a certified and experienced guide, I guide and coach clients to do their best.

For two decades I've worked as a leading professor, consultant, coach, and tutor. Https://www.wyzant.com/Tutors/Evan_MA_PhD is my Wyzant profile. If you need to do research or to use your voice—in singing, speaking, or writing—to accomplish your goals, then I can help you succeed.

I’ve helped everyone from preschoolers to doctoral students to grandparents, in most major fields (including music, management, business, science, tech, psych, nursing, medicine, sociology, political science, history, English, and law); with a full range of projects including not only training (for presentations, interviews, other speaking; debate, music, writing; or research) but moreover the development, revision, and formatting of documents (emails, applications, papers, dissertations, websites, case studies, legal writing, scripts, books, etc.).

For 20 years I’ve worked not only as a consultant and trainer for businesspeople (especially immigrants), but moreover as a coach, tutor, and professor. For eleven years as a Specially Appointed Associate Professor at Kobe University in Japan I taught undergraduate and graduate students full-time. I also taught a course in Italy and have lectured in Germany and England. In the US I’ve taught courses for years at Riverside City College (which enrolls many high-school students), at the University of California at Riverside, and the University of Kansas. For four years I worked for the administration of the University of Kansas, including two years at the Office of Admissions.

You'll find me authentically interested in your challenges and motivated to help you succeed.

Voice (Music)

Voice (Music)

By learning to breathe better, we sing better. The technique I learned from world-class coaches (in the World Music Program at Wesleyan University and in touring ensembles), works for all genres of music: when you learn to use your own body as your vocal instrument, you'll find your natural voice, then develop trust to perform better with it. We'll find where your voice works best, then expand your core range, control, and discipline. You’ll learn not only how to hit and hold the notes with good tone, but moreover how to get listeners to feel powerful flows of music when you sing.

Patient, understanding and helpful.

Very satisfied with the first session and look forward to the second. My focus is working on improving vocals for an upcoming recording I've been working on for quite some time. The incite and advice as well as instruction and patience of my tutor, Evan couldn't be any better. Much respect.

Great help and patience

Evan was very helpful given the ambiguous requirements. He took the time to look at all options and suggest possible solutions. Thanks for the help on short notice.

Very knowledgeable and experienced coach

Evan was able to help coach me with speaking with other people. He gave me advice on how to be more articulate as well as how to better express myself when speaking. He also gave me tips on how to organize my thoughts before speaking as well as how to go about answering certain questions and what interviewers are looking for. I was able to hear myself improve my speech when I had my most recent interview.

Voice and Speech Needs

Excellent intake appointment and discussion about my client’s needs. Evan shared relative content, suggested strategies and asked the right questions to form an understanding of the solutions we are looking for. Eager to start working with Evan to build a team approach to working with the student.

Evan is spot on!

Evan gives an honest and fair evaluation during your session and provides a very useful write-up summary of your session and pinpoints areas where you need to improve. Kudos to Evan!

Lit Review

This was my first attempt at writing a lit review, little did I know how intricate it would be. Evan was an integral part of completing my review. He assisted with proof reading, organization, grammar, and APA formatting. I would recommend him to fellow students who are in need of guidance when writing a lit review.

First lesson in

My first lesson with Evan as great. He open my eyes and shed light on misconceptions I have been having about my public speaking and has taught me way to coup with nervousness.
