On Wyzant you do not "take" jobs in the sense of claiming them from a list. Instead, you apply to them just like you would respond to a parent or student’s inquiry.
Here are a few things to check:
• **Make sure your account is fully set up and approved.** Wyzant only shows jobs you are qualified to apply for. You should have added the subjects you teach, set your hourly rate and availability, and completed any required assessments or profile verifications. If your profile is still under review, you will see jobs but cannot apply to them yet.
• **Add the subject to your profile.** Jobs are filtered by subject. If a job is grayed out, it usually means the student is looking for a subject you haven’t been approved to tutor. Go to *My Business > My subjects* and add the relevant subjects, then return to the job board.
• **Check location and eligibility.** Some postings are labelled as "partnership" or are reserved for tutors in a specific city/region. If you are outside the geographic area or not part of the program, they will appear grayed out. Other postings might require certain credentials (e.g. a teaching certificate) before you can apply.
• **Click on the job to apply.** Once you are eligible, click the job card to open the details, craft a personalised message to the student, select your rate, and click **Submit Application**. You are not automatically hired; the student will review applications and choose a tutor.
If you have verified your profile and added the relevant subjects but still cannot click on jobs, it may be a technical issue. Try logging out and back in, clearing your browser’s cache or switching browsers. You can also contact Wyzant tutor support; they are very responsive and can check your account status.
I hope this helps! Once your profile is fully set up you should be able to apply to jobs right from the jobs board.
