The best way to tackle NGN questions is by first making sure you understand the different content areas quite well. THE NCLEX exam is comprised of maternal-newborn pediatrics, medical-surgical, foundations of care, and mental health. The more case studies you do, the better prepared you will be for this portion of the NCLEX exam. I am an experienced NCLEX coach and can tell you from a great deal of experience which study materials I find to be most helpful when approaching NCLEX style questions and NGN content. Most of the students that I have coached and take NCLEX report getting about 4-5 six question case studies and multiple single case studies. Repetition of these specific care areas is vital and as I mentioned in an answer to an earlier question, having a strong grasp of the rationales behind the answers is important as well!
