Why should I care about learning spanish if I live in America?

To begin, more than 559 million people speak spanish and about 41 million speaks spanish within America. That is a wide amount of speakers within this diverse country. I would definitely recommend learning due to the increase in opprotunities, boost in confidence, and being able to communicate with an entirely different group of people that others will not be able to connect with due to language barriers. Nelson Mandela says it best, “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.”
