Is it true that Brazil and Portugal have almost nothing in common culturally, except the fact that both countries speak the same language and that Brazil has a Portuguese colonial background?

I'd agree with that assessment. Brazil has had so many immigrants from all over the world that it is more eclectic than Portugal.

I wouldn’t say that. I mean, there are plenty of Brazilians living in Portugal and vice versa. A lot of Brazilian traditional dishes come from Portugal - mostly holiday dishes I’m referring to. This is such a broad generalization to make because Brazil is HUGE, and it is a melting pot of people, just like the USA. Do the US and Canada have nothing culturally in common with the UK ? It’s basically the same question.
