In Goa they still speak the Portuguese language as spoken in Portugal. Even today, the Portuguese language is a sign of prestige and social status. Currently, Portuguese is spoken and taught as a second language for a small number of Goans.
in Damão and Diu are spoken Portuguese-based Creoles which are spoken creoles based on the lexical Portuguese, but with a different grammar.
The “Língua dos Velhos” is an Indo-Portuguese Creole language spoken in Diu and the “Língua da Casa” is an Indo-Portuguese Creole language spoken in Damão.
