What's the best way to learn ASL?

I'm slowly going hearing impaired and I was wondering what would be the most effective way to learn.

Good morning. In my experience the most effective, and quickest, way to learn ASL is emersion. Surrounding yourself with the language and culture and putting yourself in situations where you have to use the language. This would be the equivalent of going to Spain to learn Spanish. This can be hard to do as there is no country or even town that only uses ASL.

The next best way would be to have voice off time with a person or people who know ASL. This is the same general idea. Remember, you need to have patience learning a language is something that takes time.
