As far as I know, the addition of charcoal in toothpaste has only shown benefits in teeth whitening and staining removal. In general, toothpaste has shown to remove plaque, strengthen enamel, prevent tooth decay, and improve bad breath. The use of charcoal toothpaste in moderation can be useful when acquiring a whiter smile. However, there is not enough research to support other benefits of charcoal toothpaste.
