Are Portuguese and Italian mutually intelligible?

To better answer your question, Portuguese and Italian languages do have similarities, although they are mutually intelligible, Italian words have more characteristic Latin in their composition, making it easier to identify by Portuguese speakers. The same doesn't occur in the orthography and sounds of the Portuguese language making it lass intelligible to Italian speakers. That's a very interesting question Thank you!
