Brazil's colonization and heritage is very diverse. Portuguese traditions remain alive in certain areas of the country. Italian immigrants arrived later but also brought great cultural influence. The country Spain does not have a strong influence in Brazil in spite of the neighboring South American countries that were colonized mostly by Spain. The idea that Brazilians are outgoing comes from the popularity of traditions like Carnival and soccer. But Brazil is too great a country for the idea to apply to every region. For example, the south of Brazil was mostly colonized by Europeans such as Germans, Polish and even Ukrainians. If you were to ask a northern Brazilian, they would probably tell you that southern folks are not outgoing at all. On the contrary, they are sometimes seen as shy or snub by northern folks.
