Access to a computer that can run the software is important. Autodesk offer lots of training materials to help you get started, but you need to invest the time and patience. The computer will help. It doesn't have to be top of the line, but it must meet the minimum requirements that Autodesk recommends.
One of the most challenging things for students new to 3D software to learn is to how to get used to "thinking" and "working" within the 3D environment. This is a fundamental part of using any 3D software, and may take some time to get used to. Once learned though, it can have a great and diverse impact.
