Plaque is a sticky type of biofilm that forms on our teeth daily. It develops when we eat foods that have sugar and starch (milk, candy, cupcakes, soda) which is left on the teeth after consumption. Then, the oral bacteria is able to thrive in that environment, which produce acid. In turn, this acid destructs the enamel, further resulting in decay/caries.
