In Autodesk Maya, what does 'n' in nCloth, nCache, nHair and nDynamics stand for?

The "n" refers to the nucleus-based physics model that Maya uses to dynamically solve the simulations. There are other dynamic simulation engines out there. There are even legacy simulation models inside of Maya, and even different solvers such as the Bullet engine.
