Can my shampoo/conditioner make my ashy hair turn gold faster than usual?

Question

Since I love cool toned hair, I of course have hair that turns gold exceptionally quick. I had a really nice muted sea foam green hair with an ashy shadow root that lasted about a week before turning into a gold muddy mess. I’m entering my second semester of cosmetology school so with information overload I can’t quite figure out if it was the color line used(davines), my personal hair care, or if I should just give up on ashy tones.
