Question about moving states after earning license.
I am currently enrolled in cosmetology in the state of Tennessee. After I receive my license, I plan to move to California. Tennessee requires 1500 hours and California requires 1600. 1. Can I earn 1600 hours in Tennessee and use them in California? 2. Will I need to take the state board test again once I live in California?

When you move state to state the rules change and so if you move to a state that requires more training it has to be done in the state you moved to. You would have to contact State Board but I believe you would either have to take the practical all over again with the new rules and regulations or at the very least take a written test.
