I hate using a round brush!!! Ideas to make it easier??

I am licensed but have been out of the business for a long time and I’m looking to get back into it. When I was doing hair, I was never good at using a round brush and would avoid using one if at all possible. This was about 10 years ago when “blowouts” weren’t really a thing. You went to a salon to get your hair “styled” with whatever tools the hairdresser preferred to use, whether that was with rollers, curling irons, flat irons, etc. Although round brushes were certainly used, there wasn’t this expectation of a big production with them. You used a round brush to give the hair some basic volume, but using a round brush to fully style and curl the hair wasn’t really a thing. That was reserved for hot rollers, flat irons or curling irons. Anyway, in getting back into doing hair, I feel pressured to become a master at “blowouts”. But the problem with me and round brushes is that they’re hard for me to control and keep hair on them, and it’s hard for me to pick up strands of hair because I’ve got the blow dryer in one hand and the round brush in another. Those of you that are really good at this must have long pinkies, that’s all I can figure. Oh—*and*, I have never seemed to be able to pull a round brush through hair without it catching and pulling hair. Never ever does it seem to glide through hair smoothly, even if the clients hair has been conditioned and properly prepared. Ideas?
