No. It does not. Even though both have a wide variety of accents and share great percentage in similarities, they do not sound alike. It is easier to have someone comparing Portuguese sonority with Italian or as I've seen before a friend said it sounded like a Russian trying to speak Spanish.
A guy in church said once it sounded more European, not Spanish... Well, Spanish and Portuguese are both European, so I don't know what that friend had in mind when saying that comment...
