Why are my rollers not staying tight?

In school we were taught rollers. Its a left part, and a brick-like pattern in the back. My rollers start off really good and tight but as I go, they get really loose and start to fall. This is affecting how my brick pattern is coming out, and its really frustrating. I have tried clipping in in different spots, and even doubling clips, but it always ends up falling. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Like I said, the roller starts off super tight to the head but then falls. I really don’t understand. Any tips or tricks to help me out with rollers, because I’m really hating them right about now. Thanks!
