I do believe that some do teach about Afro-American hair, as well as the various textures and curl patterns. If you are unable to find a local school that does, the best option is to go to YouTube. When doing so, look for videos on how to maintain and style the different types of hair textures. To take it a step further, purchase a mannequin head that has any Afro-American curl patterns, which typical ranges from 3b-4c.
