Old Spanish and Old Portuguese (Portuguese-Galician) were medieval languages derived from Galician-Portuguese. While they shared a common origin, they developed distinctions in phonology, vocabulary, orthography, morphology, and were influenced by regional factors. The divergence increased as political and cultural influences shaped their evolution into the modern Spanish and Portuguese languages. I hope I've helped :)
