Dosage calculations.

A physician has ordered 4000 MG of a medication to be administered to a patient we have 5000 MG on hand. What is the correct dose that should be administered to the patient?

I would consider the route of administration. If by mouth, is it pill or liquid? If injected, what mg/ml is the vial/ampule. If it is absorbed, how many mg/inch (or whatever measurement is being used).
