How does Wyzant work?

I wanted to know how Wyzant works. Like how do you people(the tutors) know when to answer? Do you like working at Wyzant? Is it fun being a Tutor?

I really like being a tutor, and working through WyzAnt makes it SOOO much easier.

 

The question-and-answer section where tutors help you with questions is one of the great features--it's free for students, and the teachers get to have their responses posted on their WyzAnt profile page, which hopefully attracts more customers!

 

When a student or parent is looking for a tutor to work with in-person, they sign up with WyzAnt and post what they need, for example, "My 11th grader needs help preparing for the Math SAT." If that person lives near me, and if I am qualified in that subject, that job will "pop up" in my local WyzAnt listings, and I can contact the parent and make arrangements.

 

So I only see tutoring jobs near my home in New York. But in the Question/Answers section, the questions are from all over--like Georgia--and any tutor can take a crack at answering them!

 

It's pretty cool!
