Is woven fabric okay to make a toebag with?

I have woven fabric that I never used for class and wanted to make my friend something with it so I was thinking a tote bag! Would the woven fabric work or is it not a sturdy enough fabric?

I know your question is more than a year old, but I think you mean to say Tote Bag. It is also based on the end use of the bag. The two main types of fabric is woven and knit. Woven fabrics like canvas (because of the tight weave) are generally stronger than most and can be used to make a really good tote bag.

Woven can be strong or weak. Depends on the number of threads per unit area and strength of each thread. Can you stretch and deform the fabric easily with your hands?
