(3x -1) = 4(3x +2)
3x - 1 = 12x + 8
add 1 on each side of the equation: 3x -1 +1 = 12x +8 + 1
3x = 12x + 9
subtract 12x from each side of the equation: 3x - 12x = 12x - 12x + 9
-9x = 9
divide each side of the equation by -9: x = -1
