The perimeter of a rectangular flower garden is 80 m and its area is 375 m2. Find the length of the garden.

The length and width are 25m and 15m.  25(15)=375  while 2(25)+2(15)=80

 

You can use guess and check or, create a system and use substitution. 

 

2L+2W=80 and LW=375
