the speed limit was 45 miles per hour which I obeyed but I was stuck for 5 miles behind a truck which went only 20 miles per hour how much time did I loose

t = d/r

t = 5/20 = 1/4 hour

 

You would have taken 5/45 = 1/9 hour

 

1/4 - 1/9 = 9/36 - 4/36 = 5/36

 

60(5/36) = 25/3 = 8 1/3 = 8 minutes and 20 seconds
