Help with statistics in Excel

I am working on a project called "Which team batting statistic best predicts runs" In my instructions I am told to "create a scatter plot using two of the variables". I am using Excel for this project. However what are the actual values I am plugging in? Is it the whole sheet, an entire column or just one number?

Two columns

 

 

one column for the players' batting averages.

The second column for the # of points the player scores.

 

You can then plot the scatter plot to see if the players

with the higher batting averages score more runs

 

 

By repeating this same experiment with another

batting statistics other than the batting average,

you can see which independent var other than

the batting average predicts runs. There are 

many to pick from.
